April 6, 2023 of the Cattaraugus Seneca Nation, Wolf Clan passed away at the age of 87.  Dan passed away surrounded by loved ones.  Born May 2 ^nd , 1935 Dan was the son of Lee Daniel Leroy Sr. and Dorothea Ann (Burr) Leroy predeceased by his siblings Leah, Sid, Hope, Tyrone, Joan, Kenny, Jane and Ben.  Survived by his beloved spouse Sharon Porter and dog Geo; and also survived by his sisters Irene (Leroy) Jimerson and Sharon Leroy.  Also, survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.  Friends may mall Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Sunday 6-8 PM at the Wentland Funeral Home 10634 Main St. (Rt. 62) North Collins, NY where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 AM.

Dan was a longtime dedicated Fireman for the Cattaraugus Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid golfer and bowler.  Dan was a big supporter of our youth and was often seen on the sidelines of many games in our community.  He was a dedicated Conservation Officer for the Seneca Nation and cared very much for our environment; so much that he started Po Dan's garbage business on the Cattaraugus Territory.  Many of his financial earnings went towards the community, sports programs, benefits, foundations, individual causes and his favorite charity the SPCA.  He was called "Uncle Dan" by many and "Po Dan" by others.  He lived a blessed life and will be deeply missed.
